Naffah Development Builds on Momentum
CANFIELD – In 2019, Naffah Development broke ground on the latest addition to its Ironwood Commons development off U.S. Route 224 near state Route 11. The Villas on Macy Lane residential development comprises 29 villas in three designs with basements. It was part of the original plan for Ironwood Commons when President and CEO Michal Naffah and his wife, Karen Myers Naffah, started the project in 2004.
Reservations with deposits have been made on half of the residences to be built and the road is being cut in and utilities installed, Naffah says. The company looks to break ground in April.
The area will include green space with walking paths and will be within walking distance of restaurants in Ironwood Commons. These include Bob Evans, Ruby Tuesday, Inner Circle Pizza Canfield and the recently opened Scacchetti’s Ironwood Grille, where executive chef Tony Scacchetti specializes in prime steaks, chops and signature fresh fish dishes.
Also this year, Naffah looks to break ground on the third phase of its retail development with 20,000 square feet of commercial space behind the 11,000-square-foot space housing AT&T, Dave’s Cosmic Subs, Ghossain’s Gourmet Mediterranean Foods and Rubosky Chiropractic & Wellness. The new space is being leased and plans for additional commercial retail, service and office space will be available on property that fronts Raccoon Road, he says.
Naffah Hospitality employs 275 and supports local schools, service projects and organizations.
The company’s vice president, Mallory Naffah Padurean, and her husband, Jeff Padurean, director of Naffah Development, believe in the company’s growth opportunities for the area and rely on technology to remain competitive, they say.
Recent problems from interruption in internet service prompted the company to update its point-of-sales systems, Naffah Padurean says. Now, each terminal works independently to avoid business disruption and the system can be controlled with a smart device.
“The way we do business across all lines of our companies will continue to change and we will meet those challenges and continue to provide quality services and products,” Naffah Padurean says.
