Adult Children of Alcoholics Focus of Talk Thursday
YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio – The adult children of alcoholics will be the topic of the next installment of the Now You Know series, which will take place at 6 p.m. Thursday at the Poland Branch of the Public Library of Youngstown and Mahoning County.
Jerry Carter, former executive director of the Neil Kennedy Recovery Clinic, will be the featured speaker. Carter will explain how to identify certain behaviors, thoughts, or feelings that might be related to an unhealthy childhood, and suggest ways to prevent these behaviors from taking a toll on the present and future.
Inspired by the popular TED Talks, Now You Know is a series of monthly educational talks presented by Meridian HealthCare and the Public Library focusing on family, health and lifestyle topics.
The 45-minute talks feature experts in their fields who can speak to prominent issues facing families and individuals today. A question and answer period follows each program.
