AFP Taking Nominations for National Philanthropy Day Awards

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio – Nominations are being accepted for the 2021 National Philanthropy Day Awards. 

This annual event, which takes place in November, is presented by the Association of Fundraising Professionals Mahoning-Shenango Chapter. It recognizes  philanthropic efforts of individuals and organizations in the Mahoning and Shenango valleys.   

Nominations can be made in seven categories: Outstanding Philanthropist (individual or family),Outstanding Corporate Philanthropist (for-profit corporation or corporate foundation), Outstanding Small Business Philanthropist (100 employees or fewer), Outstanding Volunteer Fundraiser (individual), Outstanding Volunteer Fundraising Group (volunteer group), Outstanding Young Philanthropist (individual or group, 18 and under) and Legacy Award (presented posthumously to an individual or family).

The deadline for nominations is 5 p.m.  July 16 Nominations may be mailed to AFP, P.O. Box 672,  Youngstown, Ohio 44501;  emailed to afpmash@gmail.com; or submitted via the online form HERE. Nominees must reside in Mahoning, Trumbull or Columbiana counties in Ohio or in Mercer or Lawrence counties in Pennsylvania. 

Honorees will be recognized at this year’s luncheon celebration, which will take place at 11 a.m. Nov. 12 at Waypoint 4180 in Canfield.
