Alta Care Group Receives $40K to Support Youth Programs

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio – Alta Care Group was recently awarded $40,000 from the Children’s Mental Health Circle of Friends Foundation.

The funds will be used to support Alta’s Camp Challenge and its new Functional Family Therapy services.

Camp Challenge is an intensive experiential group counseling program designed to use behavior modification and cognitive behavioral therapy in group settings to improve behaviors. The program is designed for youths between ages 6 and 12.

Functional Family Therapy is an intensive, short-term, family-based model of therapy designed for at-risk youths from age 11 to 18 to keep them with their families and out of more restrictive environments, such as hospitals or jails.

“We are incredibly grateful and honored to receive this gift from Children’s Mental Health Circle of Friends Foundation,” said Joe Shorokey, CEO of Alta Care Group. “Thanks to their generosity, we’ll be able to invest in two of our growing programs that are benefitting children and families throughout Mahoning County.”
