American Cancer Society to Host ‘Cattle Baron’s Ball’ April 23

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio — The American Cancer Society is hosting the Cattle Baron’s Ball, its largest annual fundraiser, April 23, from 6 p.m. to 11 p.m. at the Lake Club here.

Dubbed “Denim and Diamonds,” the gala features country/western themed clothing, music and dancing. It has helped raise nearly $2 million to support the American Cancer Society over the last 15 years, according to a press release.

The honorary chairs of the event will be Ed and Chris Muransky of Southwoods Health and the Muransky Companies. Southwoods and the Muransky Companies are also presenting sponsors of the event.

This year’s Survivor Honoree is Paul Johnson of Adolph Johnson and Son.

This year’s Pediatric Cancer Survivor Honoree is Andrew Codner, while the Medical Honoree is Dr. Lou Lyras, a surgeon at Southwoods Health.

Also being recognized at the event will be 2013 Pediatric Cancer Survivor Honoree Ava Timko.

The 2022 Cattle Baron’s Ball will feature live and silent auctions, dancing, food and entertainment by the K Street Band and Leanne Binder.
