Area Youth Advance in Drive, Chip and Putt Competition

BOARDMAN, Ohio — There were 24 qualifiers from Sunday’s youth drive, chip and putt qualifying event at Mill Creek Park Golf Course.

The event was sponsored by the United States Golf Association and The Masters Golf Tournament. This Professional Golf Association event was conducted by the Northern Ohio PGA.

The top three in each age division qualified for a sub regional event Aug. 8 at Westfield Country Club in Westfield Center.

Winners in the boys divisions were:
Age 7-9: Sergio Gonzales (Youngstown), first place; Preston Tolnar (Canfield), second place; and Wafi Mowry (Moon Township, Pa.), third place;

Age 10-11: Noah Gabriel (Poland), first place; Ambrose Sergi (Niles), second place; Travis Pittmann (Poland), third place;

Age 12-13: Holden Orofino (Powell), first place; Matthew Morrone (Poland), second place; Angelo Rinaldi (Poland), third place;

Age 14-15: Jackson Ensley (New Middletown), first place; Dante Turner (Youngstown), second place; Evan McGrath (North Lima), third place.

Winners in the girls divisions were:
Age 7-9: Alankriti Bakshi (Carnegie, Pa.), first place; Avianna Sallee (Youngstown), second place; Alaina McKinney (Harrisville, Pa.), third place;

Age 10-11: Emery Sell (Salem), first place; Maizy Green (Youngstown), second place; Nina Brewster (Hermitage, Pa.), third place;

Age 12-13: Reese Brewster (Hermitage, Pa.), first place; Aubrey Philibin (Canfield), second place; Gianna Ross (Youngstown), third place;

Age 14-15: Alexandra Petrochko (Hermitage, Pa,), first place; Luciana Masters (Hermitage, Pa.), second place; Shaylee Muckleroy (Salem), third place.
