At Age 60, Cerni Motors Shows No Signs of Aging

AUSTINTOWN – The Cerni family began serving the transportation industry in 1961, when brothers John and Charlie Cerni opened a GMC dealership.

Cerni Motors in Austintown is still owned and operated by the Cerni family – specifically John Cerni II and his son, Vince, who represent the second and third generations.

In its 60 years, the company has grown. It now comprises two full-service International truck dealership locations (Austintown and Painesville); a multibrand trailer dealer (Girard Equipment in Girard); and Trivista, a body fabrication and equipment company.

One thing that hasn’t changed is the Cerni family’s social conscience and commitment to community

service. Family members serve on the boards of several local nonprofits and host events such as the annual All Wheels Show to benefit charities.

Last summer, during a spike in coronavirus cases, Cerni partnered with other local entities to distribute personal protective equipment.
