CANFIELD, Ohio – CTW Development Corp., Canfield, expects 2024 to bustle with new construction projects, hotel stays, bookings for banquets and weddings, and a steady stream of golfers at its Westford Lifestyle Community in Canfield.
CTW plans to break ground for a 20,000-square-foot office complex in the coming months and an assisted/independent senior living center. In early February, CTW broke ground for an Aldi grocery store at Westford.
Meanwhile, in November, the Marriott TownePlace and SpringHill extended-stay suites hotel opened in the Westford complex.
CTW’s reputation in the hospitality market was greatly enhanced last year when the Courtyard Marriot Youngstown-Canfield was ranked No. 1 in guest satisfaction surveys among 1,100 Courtyard hotels worldwide, says Cody Wyatt vice president of operations for Kennsington Hospitality.
The hotel consistently commands between nine and 10-star ratings, he adds, and last year received Marriott International’s Diamond Circle award for the sixth year in a row.
Other amenities at Westford achieved success in 2023, laying the foundation for an even stronger 2024.
Kennsington Golf Club is expecting an early season this year and should be in “excellent shape,” according to superintendent Sean Novotny. Last year, Novotny and Kennsington Golf were featured in Golf Course Industry Magazine.
The Kennsington Grille saw strong response from its 2023 Summer Music on Patio schedule and will return this summer. Early bookings indicate strong demand for events on the outdoor veranda and patio.
Waypoint 4180, a 26,000-square-foot banquet and meeting center at Westford, will host its second annual bridal show March 10. The events center hosts weddings, showers, corporate meetings, banquets and smaller events.
The Kennsington Golf Simulator Lounge, housed beneath the banquet center, has added a catering menu and is available for party rentals. The sports lounge proved a draw during football season, while golfers helped to stay in swing during the colder months.
CTW was established in 1987 by Chuck Whitman. It has grown to offer more than 1.5 million square feet of class ‘A’ office and retail space and has developed more than 600 residential sites in and around the Mahoning Valley and Ohio.
