YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio – MS Consultants celebrated 60 years in business in 2023.
The firm, founded in Youngstown by Thomas F. Mosure and Thomas Fok in 1963, today operates offices throughout Ohio, Pennsylvania, Indiana, North Carolina, South Carolina and West Virginia. It employs more than 400 and has completed infrastructure projects in every state in the contiguous United States.
“We have expanded our core businesses of transportation, water, construction, architecture, urban and environmental planning to include energy services, sustainable design, land development, and more,” says Mark Buchenic, vice president of regional operations, Eastern Ohio.
Last year, the firm redefined its mission, vision and values statements based on the company’s current purpose and future vision. “Our new vision statement, ‘to shape a better tomorrow,’ accurately reflects the future we want to help build for the Mahoning Valley,” Buchenic says.
Local projects MS Consultants is involved in include development of the West Warren Industrial Park.
Construction of the park’s first structure, a 98,200-square-foot industrial space, will begin this spring and is expected to house its first tenant in early 2025.
The firm also is partnering with local stakeholders on efforts to restore the Mahoning River to its natural, free-flowing state and restore the corridor to achieve long-term prosperity. It worked with the Ohio Department of Development to execute the planning phase of the Governor’s Appalachian Community Grant program.
Its local efforts also include helping to rebuild East Palestine, and working on infrastructure projects, including the Western Reserve Road widening and Interstate 680 improvements.
