TCTC Launches First ‘E-Week’

WARREN, Ohio – Aiden Hadi, an 11th-grade student from Girard High School, met Feb. 9 with Carisa Sechrist, human resources generalist for Ellwood Quality Steels Co., as part of the Trumbull Career & Technical Center’s first “E Week.”

Some 800 Trumbull County students met with local employers in various industries in hopes they would find their “E” – enrollment, enlistment and employment. Hadi says he wants to become an ironworker. During his time visiting with company representatives, he asked about job-shadowing, what they look for in future employees and the type of benefits their companies offer.

Employers willing to hire those still in high school or those who have just graduated is another factor Hadi said he is looking for. a variety of questions.

“I am asking them about whether they do job shadows, what they look for in employees, as well as what kind of benefits they have working there,” he said.
