YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio – Four female-owned businesses got a boost from the Youngstown Business Incubator’s Women in Entrepreneurship Program as their owners completed Phase II of the WE Launch program.
The three-part WE Accelerator Program teaches marketing and other necessary business skills, says Tanisha Wheeler, YBI director of women and youth entrepreneurship.
Participants attended lectures taught by industry professionals and completed coursework pertaining to the fundamentals of owning and operating a business. Then the women got a chance to pitch their ideas for a chance to win a $5,000 grant.
The new entrepreneurs completing the program are Kimberly Omoregie, founder of Indaba Bed and Breakfast; Paige Hall of Top Tier Rentals; Alisha Alls of AlishaLynn; and Jazz’mine Harsch from Jazz’mine Harsch Photography.
Harsch, the winner of the $5,000 grant money, plans to expand both her marketing efforts and her closet of items she offers to clients using her services.
Applications open in September for the next accelerator program, WE Grow, a four-week program for women who have been in business a minimum of three years. The primary focus is taking their business to the next level.
