Ascend Youngstown Climbs to Success

POLAND, Ohio – Ascend Youngstown begins 2020 with expansion plans for its fitness area and yoga room as it adds climbing equipment and programming. 

The indoor climbing industry is becoming popular among the general public, says Paul Guarino, who established Ascend Youngstown last March. The company opened as Transcend Bouldering Lounge. It was sold in  November to Pittsburgh-based Ascend Climbing. 

“With many resources coming from Pittsburgh, extra-care attention is required to create a supported, dynamic system,” Guarino says.

“We realize that we are fortunate to have the opportunity to have founded and operate a successful passion project. The current market is ripe for innovation and there is plenty of room for small startup projects.”
