Basinger Auction Relocates, Sales Up at Real Estate Firm

BOARDMAN, Ohio Basinger Auction Service and American Real Estate Specialists started 2020 by moving its primary offices to 226 Boardman-Canfield Road.

The office, across from the Boardman Plaza, gets 35,000 passers-by each day, according to Paul Basinger, auctioneer and real estate broker. A digital sign promotes the business, its auctions and real estate listings.

Meanwhile, renovations are underway at the main auction gallery, 9983 Market St. in North Lima, a fresh, refaced building where interior renovations will be completed this year, Basinger says.

While conducting on-site auctions with internet-only bidding remained most popular – 26 on-site auctions of chattel property in 2019, Basinger reports – the company also conducted 15 online-only auctions that served more than 66 sellers.

In 2019, sales at American Real Estate Specialists increased to more than $1.18 million, he adds. Seventeen properties were sold, using both auction and conventional marketing methods, with an average of 99.54% of the list price and nine properties selling over list price.
