Bass Pro Shops Coming to Eastwood Mall Complex
NILES, Ohio – Outdoors enthusiasts in the Mahoning Valley will soon have a new store to get hooked on.
Bass Pro Shops is opening a new location in Howland Commons in the Eastwood Mall Complex.
The store will be the company’s seventh in Ohio and the only location within 150 miles of the Valley, according to a news release from Cafaro Co., which owns and operates the Eastwood Mall Complex.
“We have been diligently working to enhance our Eastwood Mall Complex in an effort to bring the very best retail variety to the Mahoning Valley,” said Anthony Cafaro Jr., co-president of Cafaro Co. “Shaking hands with Johnny Morris to bring one of his amazing Bass Pro Shops retail stores here is a crown jewel addition to this complex and the entire region.”
The 63,000-square-foot outdoor retail store, which will be located in the space formerly occupied by Levin Furniture and Gander Mountain, is expected to open later this year.
The store will showcase industry-leading fishing boats produced by Tracker, Nitro, Sun Tracker, Regency and Tahoe. The inventory will be tailored to the needs of anglers in northeastern Ohio and western Pennsylvania, according to a news release from Bass Pro Shops.
The store will also feature an assortment of new Tracker off-road ATVs and equipment and clothing for all outdoor adventures, including hiking, backpacking, wildlife viewing and camping.
“We are humbled and excited to strengthen our relationship with the many hunting, fishing and outdoor families of Ohio,” Morris said. “This part of the world is home to a proud sporting heritage. Our latest Bass Pro Shops in Niles will make it easy for people and families to enjoy time together in the woods and on the water. For that, we are deep down proud and excited.”
Bass Pro Shops locations feature an aquarium and water features stocked with native fish species, local antiques and artifacts, trophy fish and wildlife mounts and murals depicting local scenes.
The Niles store will host dozens of events throughout the year aimed at connecting new audiences – particularly children – to the outdoors.
Employment information, when available, will be posted HERE.
Bass Pro Shops, which was founded by Morris in 1972, celebrated its 50th anniversary in 2022. The company acquired outdoors retailer Cabela’s in 2017.
