Benyo Takes Ownership of Lake Milton Pharmacy

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio – After 41 years, Lake Milton Pharmacy is under new ownership, but still remains an independent, locally owned pharmacy.

In December, Dr. Alexis Benyo purchased the business when previous owner, Marshall Wexler, decided to retire from the business. During her first year of pharmacy school, Benyo shadowed Wexler at Lake Milton Pharmacy, 17674 Mahoning Ave.

“Owning my own business was something I always wanted to do,” she said in a statement. “I grew up watching my family run the Brilex Group of Companies and was confident I would do the same one day.”

Customers can expect to receive the same service and personal attention Wexler has provided the area, Benyo said. Within the next few months, Lake Milton Pharmacy will begin offering and administering immunization services, such as flu shots and travel vaccines, she said.

“It was our great fortune to find a qualified and caring person to continue our legacy,” Wexler said. “She will continue to be an asset for future growth and expansion of services to our pharmacy and the community.”

Benyo is a lifelong resident of Austintown and graduated from Austintown Fitch High School in 2013. She went to Duquesne University School of Pharmacy and graduated in 2019. Upon graduation, she worked for a corporately owned pharmacy. Owning her own pharmacy provided an opportunity to promote her values of providing patient care and patient relationships, she said.
