Berkshire Northwood Acquires Wadsworth Real Estate Firm
CLEVELAND – Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Northwood Realty Services has acquired Kovack Realtors of Wadsworth, the company has announced.
Founded in 1981, the real estate company quickly became one of the top brokerages in Ohio. Michele Kovack Boyd has led the company, which today employs 37 agents since 1996. She also serves as director of the Medina County Board of Realtors.
“Joining forces with Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Northwood Realty Services was a natural progression for Kovack Realtors. We already love the Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices name and can grow even more with the local support of Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Northwood Realty Services,” she said in a statement.
Boyd will continue as managing broker for her office and will become a principal broker for Berkshire Hathaway.
“Clearly we have a very similar business model with Michele Kovack Realtors,” said Berkshire Hathaway President and CEO Tom Hosack. “This joining of forces lets us leverage the power of the Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices name even more.”
Following the acquisition, Berkshire Hathaway Northwood operates 54 offices across Ohio and Pennsylvania, employing 1,800 agents. The Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices network is the No. 22 company nationally for unit sales, according to data from RealTrends.
