Boardman Park Halloween Events Begin Oct. 19
BOARDMAN, Ohio — Halloween festivities at Boardman Park begin Oct. 19 with the Pumpkin Carve-Out Contest.
The event runs from 6 to 9 p.m. Oct. 19, from noon to 9 p.m. on Oct. 20 and from noon to 5 p.m. on Oct. 21. There is a fee for each pumpkin and prizes will be awarded for age categories ranging from children to adults. Participants are encouraged to bring their own carving tools and newspapers. Jack-o’-lanterns will be lit and on display from Oct. 24 through Oct. 31.
The park’s family-friendly wagon rides through the Haunted Forest take place at dusk on Oct. 19 and 20, and Oct. 26 and 27. Tickets will be available each night from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. in the Georgeanna Parker Activity Building. Prices are $5 for adults, $3 for children 12 and younger.
Family-rate tickets are available for families of two adults and up to four children. Boardman residents pay $15 and nonresidents pay $18.
During the wagon rides, other free activities include children’s bouncers, balloons by Jocko the Balloon Man and a bonfire. Food concessions will be available.
Proceeds for all events benefit the 4-H Clubs of Mahoning County, the Boardman High School Key Club and the Youngstown State University Honors Society.
