Boscov’s Confirms It’s Coming to Eastwood Mall

NILES, Ohio – Boscov’s, a century-old department store chain based in Reading, Pa., has announced that it will open its newest store in the Eastwood Mall. 

The company will open in the former Sears space at the mall by this autumn. It will be the 49th Boscov’s store.

“Many stores who call themselves department stores have really become specialty stores,” said chairman and CEO Jim Boscov in a statement. “We still believe in the traditional department store, where in one trip you can find everything you you want.The Mahoning Valley is going to see some very aggressive retailing that combines fun, fashion, community partnership, entertainment and service with jaw dropping prices.”

The store will employ more than 300, according to the statement.

Boscov’s operates stores in Pennsylvania, New York, New Jersey, Maryland, Delaware, Connecticut, Rhode Island and Ohio.

As a family-owned company, Boscov noted, a large emphasis is placed on community engagement. Last year, the company raised $2.5 million for the communities in which it is located.
