Branch Street Hosts Party for No. 1 Ranking

BOARDMAN, Ohio – To celebrate being named the best coffee shop in Ohio by Food & Wine Magazine, Branch Street Coffee Roasters will host an after-hours party April 27.

The party at the café, 1393 Boardman-Canfield Road in Boardman, will feature limited edition bags of coffee, as well as beer from Noble Creature Cask House in Youngstown and Birdfish Brewing Co. in Columbiana. All proceeds from beer sales will be donated to animal charities in the Mahoning Valley.

After putting Branch Street in their top five of Ohio coffee shops last year, Food & Wine published an updated list in March. Reviewers visited the shops as secret shoppers and wrote their pieces based on their in-store experiences.

The award is just the latest award for the Boardman café. In 2018, Coffee Review gave the shop’s Kenay Kanyu coffee a rating of 95 – its threshold for perfect coffees – and the Kenya Gikirima a 94. The site also ranked the Konyu as its No. 25 coffee of more than 3,000 worldwide it reviewed last year.
