Briarfield Hosts ‘Dementia Live’ Event
YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio — The public will have an opportunity to experience first-hand the cognitive impairment and sensory change that come with living with dementia.
Dementia Live offers a 30-minute, high-impact simulation to immerse participants into living with dementia. Briarfield is partnering with Ohio Living Home Health & Hospice and the Alzheimer’s Association to host Dementia Live at the Inn at Walker Mill on Sept. 19.
“By hosting these tours, we hope to give caregivers and loved ones a better understanding of what people with dementia are going through,” said Amanda Rivera, executive director. “Our staff is required to experience the tours as well as part of their ongoing memory care training.”
Tours take place from 3 to 6 p.m. at the assisted living and memory care community, located at 8060 South Ave.
Representatives from Ohio Living Home Health & Hospice and the Alzheimer’s Association will be available during the event to provide information and answer questions. For reservations call 330 758 8855.
