Brite Adds Leader for Acceleration, Marketing Specialist
WARREN, Ohio – Brite Energy Innovators has added Jeff Rockwood to its staff as the incubator’s first vice president of tech acceleration and Daniel Sylak as marketing and events specialist.
An Akron native, Rockwood will oversee investment and mentoring for portfolio companies at the energy-technologies incubator. He currently serves as a consultant for Exacter Inc. in Columbus and Rewyndr in Pittsburgh.
He graduated with an MBA from the Weatherhead School of Management at Case Western Reserve University and now serves on its alumni advisory council.
“We engaged Jeff to better serve tech-enabled energy startups through his deep experience developing go-to-market strategies, a major challenge that founders face,” said Brite President and CEO Rick Stockburger in a statement. “With his expertise, Brite will connect startups to customers and greatly expand innovation consulting services to utilities and others.”
Sylak joins Brite Energy Innovators after graduating from the Williamson College of Business Administration at Youngstown State University with a degree in marketing management and a minor in employee relations.
In May, he started working with Brite as its first marketing intern.
In his new position, Sylak will help in building out the incubator’s marketing efforts, as well as those for startups.
“Daniel is committed to the max to Brite’s mission and we look forward to the new services we’ll be able to offer our portfolio companies with his expertise,” said Sara Daugherty, Brite’s director of operations and economic impact, in a statement.
