Brite Powers Change to Cleaner, Brighter Future
WARREN, Ohio – Brite Energy Innovators plans to build off its success in 2023 by continuing to provide programs that leverage economic development and job creation through clean energy initiatives and technological advances.
“As we step into 2024, we see a future full of potential,” says Victoria Rusu, strategic partnership director.
Brite, a 501(c)3 based in Warren, was founded in 2011. It provides signature startup programs, an expansive network and a strategic presence to help companies and entrepreneurs.
This year, Brite will host events and explore the clean energy revolution through a twice-monthly podcast series, Rusu says.
Brite also intends to expand its programming to include a clean tech program for universities and develop a strategic presence across Ohio, according to Rusu.
In 2023, Brite portfolio companies achieved several growth benchmarks.
EdgeEnergy, Electrada, Land Moto, and Octect Scientific all had excellent capital raises. Petra Power cut the ribbon on an office in Solon. And Adena Power was one of 25 startups to participate in the Electric Power Research Institute’s Incubatenergy Lab Program Pitch Day
Last year Brite launched the next step in its startup programming that helps prepare early stage ventures for an initial capital raise, Rusu says.
Brite expanded its program reach to Michigan with the IN2 Channel Partner Award, she adds. The energy incubator collaborated with several local and regional foundations. And it launched a network of corporations, academic institutions, investors and nonprofits engaged in the energy community.
