Buhl Park Hosts Health & Fitness Day June 4

HERMITAGE, Pa. — Buhl Park is hosting a day filled with sports, fitness and health activities on June 4. Admission is free.

The day will begin at 9 a.m. with a Dash in the Splash 5k run/2m walk and free Kids’ Fun Run that end with an optional jump in the water, said Tom Roskos, park executive director. “We have added a disc golf course and reopened our driving range, both of which will host clinics that day,” he added.

Other events include the Buhl Grand Prix, USA Cycling-sanctioned racing hosted by La Prima Espresso Co. Racing from 10 a.m. till 4:15 p.m. At 1:15 p.m., a free Kids’ Bike Race will be held.

The schedule is filled with demonstrations ranging from dance to yoga, and food and other vendors will be onsite all day. Penn Ohio Rehabilitation, which is helping to sponsor the event and assist with the planning, will feature activities at its tent as well as on stage. The Buhl Community Recreation Center will showcase its offerings from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. at the Performing Arts Center, and other activities include a Piyo class, Squat Clinic or Lunch Time-Crunch Time Fitness Trail Walk.

Children’s activities are plentiful as well, with two obstacle courses hosted by Hermitage Kiwanis and Fitness & Physique, Yoga for Kids with Jackie Stewart, health and wellness activities at the Butterfly Memorial Garden/Little Free Library, hosted by Team Danielle, which includes crafts, Story Time with Miss Vicki and health-care provider presentations.
