Burgan Real Estate Tops $100M in Home Sales
BOARDMAN – Since taking over 42-year-old Burgan Real Estate in 2018, second-generation owners Sue Filipovich and Patrick Burgan have carried on the “Better with Burgan” motto by supporting their team and nearly doubling sales, turning the agency into a $100 million company in 2019.
Last year, Burgan Real Estate sold 752 units for more than $100 million in total volume, a 27% increase over record-setting sales in 2018. With 12 consecutive quarters of growth, it outperformed each month over the prior year, which was driven in part by the agency’s new “Guaranteed Sale” plan and its use of a data-driven, targeted marketing model.
“2019 was a monumental year,” Burgan says. “The vision that Sue and I had in creating a culture and a company built on integrity, honesty and transparency was on full display by the number of people who chose us to provide a better way to find their new home. But none of this success is possible without the dedication of our Burgan Bunch agents and valued partners who are as committed as we are to making the lives of our clients and community better.”
Last year, 19 Burgan agents surpassed $1 million in annual sales, earning the President’s Sales Club Award – the most, for the second consecutive year, among members of the Youngstown Columbiana Association of Realtors.
“While the volume our company did is an amazing achievement, it is a byproduct of a greater achievement,” Filipovich says. “To have Burgan represented by the most agents receiving this award is our proudest achievement of 2019. It is proof our ‘Better with Burgan’ culture and strategies successfully empower agents to grow their careers, achieve their personal and financial goals, and be a positive influence in the Mahoning Valley.”
Last year, the company supported United Way of Youngstown and the Mahoning Valley’s Day of Caring, Habitat for Humanity, The Purple Cat and other local charities through donations of time and more than $20,000 in contributions. Among them was a $2,400 grant for entrepreneurship students at Youngstown State University, named in honor of John Burgan, one of the founders of Burgan Real Estate and Patrick’s father.
Also in 2019, the company launched Market Title Agency and maintained its membership with Leading Real Estate Companies of the World that allows it to offer Military on the Move, which offers benefits to active, retired and wounded military personnel.
