Business Journal Publisher Honored By Score
YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio – Andrea Wood, publisher of The Business Journal, was on Friday presented with Score’s Lifetime Achievement Award in recognition of her lasting contribution to journalism and business in the Mahoning Valley.
“Over the years, you’ve made such a tremendous difference in everything you’ve done,” Ron Emery, chairman of the Youngstown chapter of Score, told Wood before presenting her with the award.
Wood began her career in local journalism in 1974 as a reporter and weekend anchor at WYTV Channel 33. In 1984, she became a founding principal in The Business Journal. She was named publisher in 1986.
“I’m honored, but this award really belongs to the entire staff of the Business Journal,” Wood said, reflecting on the publication’s 37 years. “It’s been truly a remarkable effort on everyone’s part.”
Score is the country’s largest network of volunteer business mentors. Its Youngstown chapter includes 35 members with decades of entrepreneurial and business experience that provide advice and assistance to others interested in developing their skills.
