Canfield Healthcare Center Sold for $1.65 Million
CANFIELD, Ohio – CommuniCare, a Cincinnati company that operates five skilled nursing centers in the three-county region, has added a sixth operation here, the Canfield Healthcare Center.
Canfield Asset Ownership LLC, an entity incorporated by CommuniCare in December, paid $1.65 million to buy the skilled nursing center at 2958 Canfield Road. CommuniCare and Canfield Asset Ownership LLC are based at 4700 Ashwood Drive in Cincinnati. The sale closed March 8.
The seller is Wilcare LLC, formerly Wilcare Corp., which was incorporated in 1978 in Youngstown. Wilcare paid $2.05 million to buy the nursing home in May 1993. The building was constructed in 1980, according to Mahoning County property records.
In the three-county region, CommuniCare operates the Addison Healthcare center at 8055 Addison Road in Masury, which it purchased in February, as well as the Austintown Healthcare Center at 650 S. Meridian Road, the Greenbriar Center at 8064 South Ave. in Boardman, the Salem North Healthcare Center at 250 Continental Drive and the Salem West Healthcare Center at 2511 Bentley Drive.
The company, which employs 10,000, was founded in 1984 and remains family owned. Its chairman is Stephen L. Rosedale. Across seven states, CommuniCare operates 85 health-care centers.
