CCPA Honors Humtown for Manufacturing Award Win

LEETONIA, Ohio – To honor Humtown Products being named a Manufacturer of the Year, the Columbiana County Port Authority has presented the company with a display to hang in its Leetonia plant.

In October, the National Association of Manufacturers named Humtown its 2020 Manufacturer of the Year in the small to medium enterprise category, being chosen from more than 550,000 manufacturers in the country. In their decision, the judges cited Humtown’s use of 3D printing to bring sand cores and molds to foundries nationwide.

“At Humtown, we are the industry’s first conventional sand core and mold manufacturer to commercialize 3D printing,” said Brandon Lamoncha, Humtown’s director of additive manufacturing, in October.

“Adopting this new toolingless technology has revolutionized our capabilities and expanded the markets and customers we can serve. It has been a long, arduous road to get where we are today, which makes this honor all the more welcome,” he continued.
