Celebrations Planned for State Champion Softball Teams

NILES, Ohio – Eastwood Mall and the Cafaro Foundation are inviting the public to help celebrate two local softball teams that brought home state titles.

Champions Rallies will take place in the mall’s Center Court on two separate days next week for the teams from Austintown Fitch and Canfield high schools. 

During both rallies, classmates, family and local officials will be on hand to offer congratulations. The Cafaro Foundation will make donations to each school to commemorate their team’s achievements.

The celebration for the Fitch team will take place at 4 p.m. Monday. The Falcons won the Division I title for the second straight year with a 4-0 victory over Watkins Memorial.

The celebration for the Canfield team is set for noon June 28. The Cardinals defeated Bryan High School, 4-0, to win the Division II title.
