Chamber to Honor Jarvis, Schrock at Annual Meeting

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio — Charles Jarvis, publisher of The Tribune Chronicle/The Vindicator, and Michael Schrock, Mahoning Valley regional president of Chemical Bank, will receive awards at the Youngstown/Warren Regional Chamber’s 2020 Annual Meeting.

Last year, Jarvis purchased the name, subscription list and digital rights to The Vindicator, which printed its final edition in August. On Sept. 1, the first edition of The Vindicator under the ownership of Jarvis was published. Jarvis will receive the Spirit of the Valley Award at the March 19 event.

For his support of the Regional Chamber and its government affairs and economic development efforts, Schrock will receive the Spirit of the Chamber award.

Also at the event, chamber President and CEO Tom Humprhies will give an update on the organization’s accomplishments and a preview of what’s to come.

Majida Mourad, vice president of government relations at Tellurian Inc., will keynote the event. Founded in 2016, Tellurian is a natural gas company headquartered in Houston, Texas.

Mourad previously served as vice president of government relations at Cheniere Energy, where she was instrumental in it receiving the first U.S. LNG export permit in the lower 48. Prior to Cheniere, she was president of Abraham & Roetzel LLC and a partner of The Abraham Group LLC – a strategic consulting firm focused on the international energy sector with the former secretary of energy, Spencer Abraham.

The event is scheduled for 7:30 to 9:30 a.m. March 19 at Mr. Anthony’s in Boardman. The cost is $40 for members and $50 for nonmembers. Click here to register.
