City Club Panel to Analyze Midterm Election
WARREN, Ohio – The City Club of the Mahoning Valley will host “The Mid-Term Elections Are Over: What’s Next?” at the Hippodrome Banquet Center downtown Warren.
The Dec. 12 panel will explore the consequences of the recent midterm elections, which saw Democrats reclaim the majority in the U.S. House of Representatives, Republicans retain control of the U.S. Senate, and women, including women of color, winning House and Senate seats and governorships.
In Ohio, Republicans retained control of the top statewide offices and continue to control all three branches of government, which could impact the redrawing of congressional and statehouse maps following the next U.S. Census.
Amanda Rabinowitz, host of Morning Edition, 89.7 WKSU-FM, will moderate the panel analyzing the election results and their impact. The panel will consist of attorney Kim Akins; Kristen Olmi, managing member of KO Consulting LLC and president of the League of Women Voters of Greater Youngstown; and Tracey Winbush, host and CEO of Opsi-Media Inc. and vice-chairwoman of the Mahoning County Republican Party.
Tickets from the event, which will run from noon to 1:30 p.m., are $20 for City Club members and $35 for nonmembers. Tables of eight are available for $200 for nonprofit organizations and $300 for businesses. Reservations can be made here.
