Clever Wins 6 ADDYs at AAF-Akron American Advertising Awards

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio – Marketing agency Clever took home six awards at the 2023 AAF-Akron American Advertising Awards on Feb. 24 in Akron.

Clever received two Gold ADDYs for the team’s work, leading all other local agencies in total awards this year and topping last year’s showing where it received four ADDYs, including the Judge’s Choice Award.

Clever received a Gold ADDY in the Online/Interactive-Websites category for the new e-commerce website it developed for Beresford’s Butchers of Calcutta, Ohio. It also earned a second Gold ADDY in the Online/Interactive-Social Media Campaign category for its Black History Month campaign for Alta Care Group.

“We are incredibly honored to have our work recognized by industry professionals at the 2023 American Advertising Awards,” said Adrienne Sabo, founder and creative director at Clever. “And for two of our six awards to be Gold was a tremendous achievement for our team and our clients.”

The creative team of Sabo, Whitney Burd and Tony Marr also received four Silver ADDYs in the categories of Elements of Advertising-Visual-Logo for its logo and branding work for Take That Step; Print Advertising-Newspaper Advertising for the suicide prevention ad for Alta Care Group; Elements of Advertising-Visual-Black & White/Color/Digital Enhanced Photography Campaign for product photography for Beresford’s Butchers; and Advertising Industry-Self Promotion-Out-of-Home for its Clever is Better billboard.

“I think the breadth of categories we received recognition in again shows our team’s talent, creativity and skill across all marketing disciplines,” said Marr, founder and business development at Clever.

The American Advertising Awards, which recognizes and rewards the creative spirit of excellence in the art of advertising, attracts more than 25,000 entries every year in local AAF Ad Club competitions.

Clever was also selected as AAF-Akron’s creative partner for the 2023 American Advertising Awards. The team developed all of the creative concepts, elements and executions for this year’s awards around the theme Ad-chella.
