YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio – A business in the real estate realm is unique in the fact that real estate agents are independent contractors, so the company has to offer many unique benefits to attract professional talent.
Coldwell Banker EvenBay Real Estate is a special business as we are locally owned and operated, with owners that live and work right here in the Mahoning Valley. We are affiliated with Real Estate’s largest brand, Coldwell Banker, but we have a distinct opportunity to provide our real estate agents with personalized and attentive support while also having access to a global network of tools and resources at Coldwell Banker.
Our owners and leadership team live and work here in the Mahoning Valley, providing the agents access to their knowledge and expertise 24/7. Our leaders are always available. It’s a great way to learn and gain knowledge from individuals who have decades of real estate knowledge and experience right here in the Mahoning Valley.
Agents have endless support from the administrative and marketing team, providing many administrative functions that allow a real estate professional to be more productive. Data input and coordination of various steps of the transaction can bog down a professional. Having a team available to help makes a big difference.
Being an employee who gets to help drive the culture here: this is near and dear to me. We feel like a family. Yes, the real estate agents are independent contractors so it’s not like we sit in cubicles surrounding each other. We make an extra effort to get to know each other on a deeper level, inherently forming special bonds.
Being a part of a family-oriented culture makes a difference. Whether it’s hobbies, family members’ names, kids’ interests or animals, we get to know many aspects of our team’s lives. We celebrate successes and positive events and support each other in not-so-great times. We don’t compete against one another, instead rooting for each other every step of the way.
Coaching and mentoring are part of our company culture. Our owners and management are the agents’ mentors/coaches, teaching them everything they need to be successful. Additional commission isn’t taken from the agents, either.
All the above mentioned are intangible items we cannot touch. But sometimes feel-good aspects of a company makes it special. Of course, we have a competitive commission structure, endless training, company outings, marketing tools/resources, etc. But it’s those personalized things that make you feel good and make all the difference in a great place to work.
