Columbiana Receives $1.6M Loan for Infrastructure Project
COLUMBIANA, Ohio – The city was awarded a $1.6 million loan at 3.50% for 30 years by the Ohio Water Development Authority.
The funds will be used for the construction of a sanitary lift station, 3,300 feet of sanitary sewer and 4,600 feet of force main to allow for the elimination of five smaller lift stations, according to a news release.
The Ohio Water Development Authority announced Tuesday that it awarded $29.6 million through low-interest loans to Ohio communities to improve wastewater and drinking water infrastructure and make water quality improvements for Ohioans.
The Columbiana project is one of 12 that will provide improvements and replace aging infrastructure. The 12 awarded projects received an interest rate ranging from 1.80% to 3.67%.
