Dana School Announces Holiday Event Slate

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio – The Dana School of Music will host its annual Carols & Cocoa concert 7 p.m. Dec. 5 at Stambaugh Auditorium.

The show will holiday favorites from the Dana Clarinet Ensemble, Dana Flute Ensemble, Trombone Ensemble, Stambaugh Chorus, Festival Symphonic Choir and the Youngstown State University Barbershop Chorus.

Following an intermission, the Dana Holiday Concert will kick off with performances by the YSU Wind Ensemble, Dana String Ensemble and Dana Chorale, among others. In addition, Dana School faculty Misook Yun, Christopher Krummel, Cicilia Yudha and Joseph Krumholz will perform, with the Hickory High School Chamber Singers as featured guests.

Tickets for the show are $11 for adults, $6 for seniors and students and free children under 12 or with a valid YSU ID. They can be purchased in person at the Stambaugh Auditorium box office, via phone at 330 259 0555 or online at StambaughAuditorium.com.

The concert is the capstone of the holiday events hosted by YSU’s Cliffe College of Creative Arts & Communication. On Dec. 1, the ceramics program will host the Empty Bowls YSU event at McDonough Museum of Art from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tickets are available here.

Two days later, the free Keyboard Holiday Extravaganza will be held at 7:30 p.m. at Bliss Recital Hall, featuring classical and holiday music performances by Dana School students.

And on Dec. 5, the final Music at Noon program at the Butler Institute of American Art will be held as 12:15 p.m. Musical theater students will perform a review of Irving Berlin’s Christmas songs, including selections from his 1954 film, “White Christmas.” The show is free and open to the public.
