Downtown Youngstown Farmers Market Begins June 13

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio – The monthly Downtown Youngstown Farmers Market will begin its 2018 season June 13 at the B&O Station and run through October.

The first market will be held 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., with following markets held on the second Wednesday of each month.

The Downtown Youngstown Farmers Market is a partnership between Youngstown Neighborhood Development Corp. and Mercy Health Youngstown. SNAP and EBT payment is accepted, with buyers using SNAP being able to “double-up” their purchase value up to $30 through grants from the U.S. Department of Agriculture and the Mercy Health Foundation.

“Bringing access to fresh fruits and vegetables are incredibly impactful for those throughout our community,” said Saralee Greenfield, nutrition educator at Mercy Health Youngstown, in a release. “Our partnership with YNDC and our local farmers, helps bring produce right to the backyard of Youngstown residents.”
