Eastern Gateway to Host First Alumni Dinner and Awards Night

STEUBENVILLE, Ohio – Eastern Gateway Community College will host its first Alumni Dinner and Awards Night to honor the achievements of alumni.

The event will take place at 5:30 p.m. April 14 at the St. Florian Banquet Hall, 286 Luray Drive, Wintersville, Ohio.

The keynote speakers will be Eastern Gateway President Michael Geoghegan and former President Ed Florak.

“We are overjoyed to announce our first ever Alumni Dinner and Awards Night,” Geoghegan said. “We will recognize our Alumni of the Year Award winner, Scott Campbell, and give out Outstanding Alumni Awards to four distinguished graduates.”

The Outstanding Alumni Award recipients are:

  • Alexandra Cookie West, Steubenville;
  • Robert Thompson, Hubbard;
  • Johnny Walker, Washington, D.C.;
  • Dorothy Blaner, Steubenville.

“We are so proud of our graduates. They are making a tremendous impact in so many ways,” Geoghegan said. “Some alumni used their skills to find great jobs in emerging fields like electric vehicles, dental hygiene, nursing and specialty care in medicine. Others used their college degree to advance in their current job and workplace like one of our Outstanding Alumni Award winners, Robert Thompson, who is now police chief in Hubbard. We want to recognize their achievements and contributions to their communities.”

Tickets, which can be purchased HERE until April 8, are $50 and include entry and dinner to the awards banquet. For more information, email alumni coordinator Kelley Frazier at alumni@egcc.edu.
