Entrepreneurship Enthusiasts Invited to Startup Weekend
HERMITAGE, Pa. — Community members with a love for entrepreneurship will gather in Hermitage from March 2 through 4 for the Shenango Valley region’s Startup Weekend.
The 54-hour event will be held at the eCenter@Lindenpointe. The weekend will begin at 5:30 p.m. March 2 and end after 7:00 p.m. on March 4.
The region’s first Startup Weekend, held in November 2016, included over 60 participants and nine business pitches. The 2016 weekend’s facilitator Kit Mueller, an advocate for the creation of new businesses and technology and co-organizer of Pittsburgh’s first Startup Weekend, will return to lead this year’s event.
Startup Weekend will bring together designers, developers, marketers, students, and startup enthusiasts from throughout the region and beyond to share ideas and launch business ventures.
Participants will select ideas with the most promise, form teams, and make as much progress on the business as possible over the course of three days. In addition, business leaders, mentors, and other movers and shakers from the region will be on hand to share insights and experience.
The weekend includes meals, t-shirts, and prizes for the winning teams.
Early bird registration through Feb. 15 costs $50 for attendees, and $25 for students. Click here to buy tickets.
