EPA Hosting 2 Public Comment Meetings for Heritage Thermal Permit
Updated 9 a.m.: Corrects the purpose of the 2019 Ohio EPA permit.
EAST LIVERPOOL, Ohio – The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency will hold virtual meetings Jan. 12 and 14 for public comment on a proposed hazardous waste permit for Heritage Thermal Services.
The permit would set air emission standards for equipment leaks, tanks, containers and an extruder unit at Heritage. More information on the permit can be read HERE.
A 2019 permit issued by the Ohio Environmental Protection Agency covers the storage and treatment of hazardous waster. That permit is valid for 10 years.
The Jan. 12 online public meeting (available at THIS LINK) will allow residents to submit written comments, while the Jan. 14 meeting will be held via phone at 312 667 5632 with conference code 1344648 and will allow oral comments. Both meetings will share the same information.
Topics related to other waste management activities at the East Liverpool site will not be discussed at the meetings.
