Feb. 26 Program to Address Succession Planning

SALEM, Ohio – A workshop for employers who want to develop their exit strategy is scheduled for Feb. 26 at the Salem Campus of Kent State University.

Roy Messing, director of the Ohio Employee Ownership Center and the business succession planning program at Kent State University, will present “An Introduction to Business Succession Planning.”

During the workshop, Messing will offer an overview of succession planning, outline why a business owner needs to plan, review the selling options available to business owners, cover the succession planning process, highlight succession planning timeframes and issues, and notes who should be involved in the succession planning process.

The Ohio Employee Ownership Center at Kent State University, Salem Area Sustainable Opportunity Development Center, Salem Chamber of Commerce and the Small Business Development Center at Kent State University Tuscarawas are presenting the workshop.

The program will be held in Room 210 of the main building, and will run from 9 to 11 a.m. Registration will run from 9 to 9:30 a.m. and refreshments will be provided. There is no charge to attend the workshop, but advance registration is requested.
