Former Boardman Standout Heading to U.S. Olympic Trials

BOARDMAN, Ohio — Former Boardman High School standout swimmer Callen Aulizia is heading to the 2021 United States Olympic Trials in the 50-meter freestyle.

The current United States Naval Academy swimmer clocked 23.11 seconds to qualify for the trials starting June 4 in Omaha, Nebraska.

The top two finishers in each event at the trials advance to the 2021 Olympics in Tokyo, Japan.

The 2018 Boardman High School graduate was an all-American in the 50 freestyle and a multi-year Ohio High School Athletic Association state qualifier in Division I — finishing as high as third his junior year and taking top six his sophomore and senior seasons.

Aulizia continues to claim four school records.
