Former Youngstown Mayor to Participate in Leadership Seminar

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio – Former Mayor Jay Williams will participate in a conversation about leadership during a Lunch-and-Learn seminar Oct. 5.

The seminar will be presented by Valley Partners and the Minority Business Assistance Center at the Youngstown Business Incubator from 1 to 2:15 p.m. at the DeBartolo Stadium Club at Youngstown State University.

Food will be provided during the event. Register HERE by Oct. 2.

The seminar’s leadership focus will allow Mahoning Valley residents to gain insight and perspective from the former mayor, who is currently president and CEO of the Hartford Foundation. Participants will be encouraged to ask Williams questions during the event.

“To have former Mayor Jay Williams return to give insight to business leaders in the Valley means so much to us,” said Tanisha Wheeler, regional director of MBAC Youngstown. “We know he left and continued to do amazing work, gaining additional resources to improve the mindset and vision of small businesses in the Valley. We are so grateful that he is taking the time to come and speak about one of the most important aspects of business: leadership.”

Matthew Longmire, Valley Partners’ business resource manager, will facilitate the panel discussion at the seminar.

“This will be an impactful conversation on leadership and leadership development,” Longmire said. “I want all attendees to grow together as we lean into the discussion together.”
