G.W. Becker Updates Plant Equipment

HERMITAGE, Pa. – G.W. Becker Inc. enters 2024 with “heightened productivity from our recently expanded facility, the successful completion of notable projects and the extension of our service network into uncharted territories,” says Chris Becker, president.

The family business, founded in 1980, manufacturers overhead cranes and hoists, freestanding runway systems, workstation and Jib cranes and crane-related parts and accessories.

Notable plant improvements in 2023 included a CNC plasma burning machine with drilling capabilities and the installation of a new CNC horizontal boring machine, Becker says. To be installed this year is a new arc weld automated gantry type welding machine.

“A recent achievement worth noting is the installation of a 2-ton crane, featuring a freestanding runway,” Becker says. The crane, a “replication of a successful project from two years ago, signifies the seventh order from a devoted customer.”
