YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio – A gala co-hosted by the Beeghly College of Education at Youngstown State University and the Advancing Education-Reducing Crime will honor the Mahoning Valley’s teachers.
Admission is free for all public, private, parochial and charter school teachers in the area plus a guest.
Held 3 to 6 p.m. April 14 at Oh Wow! The Roger & Gloria Jones Children’s Center for Science & Technology, the Mahoning Valley Teacher Appreciation Gala will feature hors d’oeuvres, music, prizes and awards.
The guest speakers for the gala are Robert G. Danage, a Warren native and chaplain for the Department of Justice, and state Sen. Joe Schiavoni.
“We appreciate the significant investments teachers make in the lives of students,” said Advancing Education-Reducing Crime founder Jon Howell in a release. “They are life changers. I am a product of the Valley’s system. Teachers set the foundation on which our lives are built. They instruct us and challenge us to embrace learning.”
