Golfing for a Cause at Avalon Country Club
HERMITAGE, Pa. — For two years, golfers have competed in the EduNations Charitable Golf Tournament, raising thousands of dollars for a school that serves six villages in Sierra Leone.
“The first year, we completed the construction of the two-story school building, which will hod both the Junior Secondary and Senior Secondary schools,” says Michelle Krouse, of Covenant Church in Sharon. “Last year, despite COVID-19, we surpassed our goal and provided room and board to the students enrolled at the school for the fall of 2020.”
This year’s event is scheduled for Sept. 20 and will include a banquet and a week-long online auction, including sports memorabilia, vacation condos and gift baskets. The tournament takes place at Avalon Golf and Country Club. Registration opens in June at the Covenant Church website.
