Goodwill Hosts Hiring Event at Salem Store Thursday

SALEM, Ohio – Youngstown Area Goodwill Industries will host a daylong hiring event on Thursday at its Salem store and donation center, 2350 E. State St.

The nonprofit will offer on-the-spot interviews from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. as it looks to fill some of its nearly 50 open positions. Among the available jobs are assistant managers, supervisors, donation attendants, sorters, janitors and customer service representatives. Applicants are asked to bring two forms of identification to expedite the hiring process.

There are many perks to working at Goodwill that we hope will attract individuals to pursue employment with us,” said Deanne Smith, vice president of human resources at Youngstown Goodwill, in a statement. “We pride ourselves on creating a positive work environment along with jobs and careers that are both fun and fulfilling.”

Goodwill has been in the Salem community for more than two decades and relocated to its current address at the end of 2020 when the organization outgrew its former space. At nearly 16,000 square feet, the new store is about three times the size of its previous home and created additional jobs.

“Our positions provide many opportunities for individuals to work, grow and learn,” said Mark Goloja, Youngstown Goodwill CEO. “We are excited to add to and build our teams.”
