Grocery Outlet Donates $2K in Groceries to Rescue Mission
YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio – Grocery Outlet in Boardman has donated $2,000 worth of groceries to the Rescue Mission of the Mahoning Valley.
Funds were raised through the Christmas for the Mission campaign in November and December 2023. During the campaign, customers were invited to donate at the register to purchase food for the rescue mission.
After collecting the funds, Sarah and Eric Senges, owners of Grocery Outlet, contacted the rescue mission to find out what food items were the most needed. They then purchased canned corn, green beans, fruit, cereal and other items from their store to donate to the rescue mission.
“This donation will help us feed hundreds of people who come to us for a hot meal every day,” said Mike Byers, kitchen director at the rescue mission. “We are very thankful to Sarah and Eric, and to all the customers who donated.”
