Halliday’s Winery
LAKE MILTON, Ohio — It was 2007 when Ron Birchak, owner of Halliday’s Winery, purchased an old church next to a golf course on Lake Milton. By 2012, the facility was remodeled and soon became a winery. The name of the winery is tied into the area’s history as well: Jessie Halliday was the founder of Lake Milton in 1804.
Halliday’s offers a selection of red and white wines, ranging from dry to sweet all the way to its best-selling wine, what Birchak considers a “dessert-type wine,” called Sweet Sarah.
A specialty of Halliday’s includes infusing liquor into wine and creating strong sangrias. They often use brandy and honey whiskey. Also, a new creation of frozen wines have become popular at Halliday’s.
Paninis, pizzas and salads are a great addition, as well as live music on Fridays and Saturdays.
“Every winery has a different setting. We are very fortunate to be right on Lake Milton. The wine trail is an example of us working together to try and continue to grow the wine business,” said Birchak.
