Inaugural Groundhog Day Beerfest Benefits Local Nonprofits

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio – The inaugural Groundhog Day Craft Beerfest will be held by the Rotary Club of Youngstown on Saturday, Feb. 2 at Stambaugh Auditorium in the Jeanne D. Tyler Grand Ballroom.

The Beerfest features a wide variety of samplings of India pale ales (IPA), stouts, porters and more from local, regional and national craft brewers, including Penguin City Beer and Noble Creature Cask House in Youngstown; Paladin Brewing in Austintown; Modern Methods Brewing Co., Warren; Numbers Brewing Co., Lisbon; and Birdfish Brewing Co., Columbiana.

Attendees can sample beers during two sessions, from 1 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 9 p.m. An hour-long VIP tasting prior to each.

Proceeds from the Beerfest will support the local charitable work of the Rotary Club of Youngstown.

Tickets for the events are $40 for general admission and $60 VIP, with a $5-per-ticket service fee. They are available in person at the Stambaugh Auditorium box office, by calling 330 259 0555 or online at StambaughAuditorium.com.

Established in 1915, The Rotary Club of Youngstown has dedicated itself to the Mahoning Valley and making the community a better place to live. In a recent campaign, it raised more than $350,000 for the restoration of the pavilion at Wick Park.
