Inaugural TechBrek to Take Place at CHIP Building

SHARON, Pa. – The Shenango Valley Chamber of Commerce will present its inaugural TechBrek at the new CHIP Building on the LindenPointe Innovative Business Campus in Hermitage. It will take place from 8 to 10 a.m. Sept. 14.

TechBrek is a technology-related, startup-focused breakfast that spotlights innovation in the Shenango Valley area. The event is co-presented with the eCenter@Lindenpointe and DQE Communications, Pittsburgh.

“Our hope is that by highlighting the tech and startup community in this way, it strengthens the reality that the area is full of inventive people and innovative opportunities,” said Sherris Moreira, executive director of the Shenango Valley Chamber.

TechBrek will be held twice a year in a different location in the Shenango Valley that is available for lease or sale. “Our purpose in doing this is to also help fill spaces in our community, and what better way to do so then by bringing the public inside,” Moreira said.

CHIP building investors will have the opportunity to describe its amentities to attendees. Community Hope Investment Partners, Penn-Northwest Development Corp. and the city of Hermitage collaborated on the “flex building.” The businesses at the pop-up event will have interactive booths and mini-breakfast stations will be set up throughout the building.

“We are encouraging interactivity between the public and these innovative and tech-related companies,” Moreira said. Invitations also have been put out to foundations and interested investors throughout the region.

“We need events like these to not only highlight the innovative startups in the region, but also to connect these companies to our community for developing a more robust entrepreneurial ecosystem,” said Ketaki Desai, executive director of the eCenter@Lindenpointe.

Tickets to the breakfast event are $20. To exhibit at or purchase tickets contact Moreira at 724 981 5880.
