JA Opens Registration for Virtual College, Career and Trades Conference

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio — Middle and high school students can now register for JA Inspire Virtual, a college, career and trades conference hosted by Junior Achievement of Mahoning Valley.

The event – held virtually via the vFairs event platform – is scheduled for Nov. 19 from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. and is held in partnership with Educational Service Centers from Mahoning and Trumbull counties. Parents and the public can attend from 2 to 6 p.m. Click HERE to register.

Attendees can meet virtually with representatives of hundreds of businesses, colleges and trades participating in the one-day event. Through the online self-guided or teacher-led event, students can gather information, gain access to higher education, internships, careers and employment.

Representatives will be on hand to answer students’ questions on college acceptance policies, job shadowing, internships and employment. In turn, students can schedule interviews, download literature and learn about various available financial aid programs.

Students can attend live webinars on soft skills; college, trades and apprenticeships; entrepreneurship and financial literacy. They’ll also receive virtual swag bags to store career information and videos. Registrants receive a digital career guidebook, as well as 24/7 access for 90 days for students and parents.

Participating exhibitors will have access to more than 10,000 middle and high school students via customizable and interactive exhibitor booths, live keynote webinars and post-event statistics on students’ engagement and interactions to help gauge return on investment. Junior Achievement is seeking support from sponsoring companies and organizations to provide services and resources to the students.
